Wildcat ALuminum Tipped Bullets

I was wondering if Richards aluminum tipped bullets where in production yet or are they still in "testing phase" Thanks

As far as I know they are not in production yet ? I think many of us are loosing hope that it will pan out ? I believe there are ongoing jacket sourcing problems ? I planned on using the big 338 pills but I have lost faith they will eventuate.

Is Aluminum the best type of metal for a bullet that will likely be traveling at close to mach 3? I thought the SR71 had to use tytanium to tip it's cutting edges, as well as the Mig 25 because aluminum got too hot when traveling at such high speeds due to friction in the atmoshpere.

Yes, Richard is still working on the project and yes, there have been set-backs. I am still expecting to see them.

A bullet only flies for a few seconds at very high velocity, and if a plastic ballistic tip can take the heat, aluminum can do it better. Aluminum suffers from cycling. pressurizing an airframe like a balloon eventually causes it to fail.

The latest I've heard on jackets is 1)that Richard Can get them 2) but can he get them across the border? The border seems to be the problem.

I haven't given up yet.

Can't we just get some Mexican illegals to transport them?
They seem to cross our Southern Border at will, give them a week to walk to the Northern Border and production should be able to begin

with a 9 twist i can't help but think you'd be best off with the 220 or 240 gr bullets. Sierra and others make 210 gr bullets which are very popular with long range hunters in the big 30's around here. if you can't "get r done" with a 240, it ain't gonna happen!

I'm sure fiftydriver or lone ranger will be amonst the very first to find out. Hopefully they will let me know before the rest of you I had a nice chat with Richard about 2 weeks ago and he was calmly optomistic about a timely product release. I say calmly because he is no fool and has likely encountered Murphy's first law before. Worst thing for me is my reamer doesn't look like its a good one for his 265. Might have to send it back for a refinish.

I have a super shootin' 338 RUM that if it handles the 265s as well as it does the 300 SMKs will allow me to cancel my Edge or AX dreamin' and get on with life.
