I recently sold off 4 Nightforce scopes (3 ATACR's and an NX8), looking to get back into alpha glass. I'm on the waiting list for a ZCO 4-20H, hoping to see it in April or May. At 925 grams (32.6 ounces) ZCO hasn't cut as much weight off the 4-20H as I was hoping they would. The original 4-20 is 1036 grams (36.5 ounces). But their new M1H reticle is a winner, I really liked the MPCT1X, with the improvements in the M1H it may be the best hunting reticle in a FFP scope I've ever seen. I hope the reticle illumination isn't too bright. Really looking forward to getting behind one of these.
I've had a Tangent Theta 3-15M with Gen3xr reticle in the past and ranked it a little above the ZCO 4-20 that I also had at the time. I did like the ZCO reticle a little better, and the locking turrets that the TT didn't have, but the depth of field in the tangent theta glass was noticeably better. I also had noticeably more "glare" in the zco at sunrise and sunset when facing toward the sun. Adding the sunshade helped, but also added more weight and bulk to the rifle. Without the sunshade the weight was a bit much for a hunting rig. Hopefully the barrel on the objective end of the 4-20H extends a little farther to reduce glare, or they've improved glass coatings to help with that. Really just splitting hairs on minor differences of two outstanding scopes.
I also recently ordered a TT 3-15 LRH with a Gen3XR reticle. Coming in at 763 grams (26.9 ounces) and the LRH model having the AIF turrets, (these weren't available when I had my last tangents) this scope is hard to beat. Lots of great features and it comes in 5.7 ounces lighter than the ZCO before factoring the difference in weight of 30mm vs 36mm rings. The only thing that would make the TT LRH better is if they made it in a 4-20 and offered it with a reticle similar to the ZCO M1H.
It'll be interesting to have the 2 side by side for comparison.
