Is this the extended mag box? What is the inside length of magazine for cartridge oal?

Not sure if this is an "extended" mag box.

2.880" is cartridge overall length.

Does this "drop in" or does it need to be fitted?

It's designed for a "drop in" fit. Minor fitting may be required. I installed it in the Hogue stock on my SPS Tactical with no problem and no fitting. I then changed stocks to an older HSP stock with no problem and no fitting.

I just fit the HSP with an Atlas bottom that accepts AI style mags so no need for this one. It's a well designed bottom. Just have to use their designed mags which can be purchased in 5 and 10 rounds.
