Savage 110 Action for small shank barrel with trigger assembly installed. No bolt with the action. Will only trade for Savage Long Action for Large shank barrel with trigger assembly installed. This is the drop box type action, not the kind where the magazine wounts to the action and has a push-button, but the new kind that has the lever or button on the bottom metal. Let me know if you are interested.

Rifle is still in one piece and haven't broken it down yet. Would be willing to trade the whole rifle if the right deal comes along but I'm going to keep one of these and get rid of the other.

Sorry, the action is not for sale. Only trade, the Stevens action is for sale though...$280 for the action with the bolt and hardware, $365 shipped for the rifle.

They do in fact exist. Savage started puttling them on the Ultra Mag calibers after 2002 and now they are putting them on the .338 Lapua Magnums. So, they do exist and they have been around for a while. Check out www.sharpshootersupply.com and go to the tech updates. If I can't trade it, I'm just going to have the threads opened up a little bit. So far, I have built 3 Savage rifles, a 30-06 and 2 .300 win mags. Now I'm trying to piece together a .338 with a large shank barrel from a Savage 111.

FWIW many big 338s are being built on small shank actions and I just heard that the CDI bottom metal will accept the Lapua sized mags. Might be an alternative route for you to go...
