For Sell or trade 1) Savage 110 Long/Short extended baffle with .473" push feed bolt head for 25/06, 30/06, 270 calibers (small firing pin model). Does have extractor. Does not have ejector. Will trade for long action baffle with .534" push feed magnum bolt head (small firing pin model). Front baffle washer & bolt head retaining pin not included. Will add cash for magnum bolt head with ejector & extractor.
Asking $45.00. Shipping is buyers expense.

PM questions & email address. I will send larger pic.
Thanks for considering

Please clarify whether this can be used to convert a standard 1970s savage 110 magnum action to shoot 06/270 cartridge types or do I need a smaller firing pin to do so?

stidsteak,

Good Savage info. if not aware:
The standard caliber firing pin measures .145" in the area it would pass through the bolt head retaining pin, the magnum pins are .095" in that area. Because the firing pin diameter is smaller, the cross pin hole is smaller. So is the the diameter of the hole through the bolt head.
Starting in 2001, Savage firing pin diameters were reduced on ALL models.
What is listed above, is a small firing pin version. If you have the larger firing pin & will not work.

The extended baffle, positioned behind the .473" bolt head, causes the bolt to stop short. It effectively makes a short action with in a long action. I listed the 06 & 270 calibers to represent the bolt head size, my oversight. These calibers, will work by replacing / changing the extended baffle for the standard long action baffle(for full slide & fired case extraction) & the correct barrel chambering. If you are handy & feel confident, I understand the front baffle extension can be milled off, to function as the standard front baffle.
The .473 bolt head & front baffle, in this thread only fits Savage LA bolt. Will not fit Savage SA bolt.

I hope this answers your questions. You may have already been aware of some or all of this info..
Others that don't know, may need to read this. Posting it hear, for the purposes of this thread.

Please ask, if more question.
