Custom Remington 700 VS 22-250 Ackley Improved
I purchased this rifle new as a donor for a custom build done by a Benchrest Hall of Fame shooter and gunsmith here in Oklahoma.
I asked him to build me one just like his, only make it a coyote rifle. I told him money wasn't my first concern. He took it from there and chose the components.
He cut the chamber to the same spec's, with the same reamer used on his rifle.
He also helped with load development, it took about 20 rounds to break in and confirm the same load he used worked best in this rifle as well.
It pushes a 55 gr. bullet at 4150 fps and consistently shoots .25" groups @ 100 yds.
The load info., dies and brass go with the rifle. Total round count through the rifle is less than 100. It's got some very minor safe wear, but for all practical purposes it's a brand new build.
Components and Gunsmith work-
Action & bolt squared and trued, lugs lapped, threads straightened, chamber cut, barrel finished and crowned…all to benchrest tolerances.
26" Douglas Stainless Premium Air-Gaged barrel, Remington Varmint 007 contour
H-S Precision stock
Action skim bedded into aluminum bedding block
Trigger worked and set @ 2.25 lbs.
Bead Blasted Barrel to matte finish
