Just an option, buy a stevens model 200 in any short action with the same bolt face and install a prefit savage barrel chambered in 260. Then install a SAV-1 Rifle Basix trigger and put it in a Bell and Carlson A2 Medalist stock.
I did this build and it was around $1000 and shoots absolutely amazing. H4831SC is my go to powder with a 140 berger and CCI 250 primers. It is a blast to shoot. I hope this helps. If this is not an option an LRP should do you just fine. Take care.

Was looking for a buddy of mine, he has decided to just buy the LRP. Under $1000 and here in 10 days.

I've got a .260 LRP I bought off of a gentleman on here a year or so ago. He said it had been shot very little 50-60 rounds. I only shot 2 boxes of HSM 130gr bergers through it. It held 3/4 moa out to 250yds, that's the farthest I shot it. Reason for wanting to sell is I've found a DPMS LR .260 I'm wanting to get. The previous owner apparently tried honing the sear to try and get the trigger even lighter and now the safety doesn't work on it. It is a extremely light trigger pull on it so it's nice shooting off a bench but if I were to hunt with it I'd probably get a new trigger. I'd like $700 shipped and insured for it. Scope, rings and base are not for sale. Paypal plus fees or postal money order only.
