winchester model 71 ?' S

what does anyone know about a winchester model 71. in 348 ??
a friend has one and is thinking about getting ride of it, it looks to me to be in about 80% condition. whats it worth and any good and or bad features about it?

Price depends on:
Condition obviously
Early or late model, long or short tang
Type of sights, original?
Length of bbl
Original in other aspects such as butt pad, scope added, drilled for scope etc

A beater can fetch $900. A real collector can bring tens of thousands. Most are worth around $1200 - $3,000.
