Who shoot's Berger 195 EOL's in 7mm Mag???

Got a 7mm Mag from a member on here recently. Going to play with the 195's. What powder's work for them in the caliber. I have N570, N565, RL 26, H1000, RL33. I really need Retumbo. And I need what your end result with these were as far as your load data. The barrel is. a 24" Proof 1:8. Top 3 folks that help the most there's something in it for ya.

im not 100 percent sure you could push the 195 fast enough to benefit from the lighter bullets for long range sure somebody else has tried them good luck

180 Hybrids will perform better in a 7 RM than the 195's. I've stomped a bunch of elk with the 180s and I'm not switching. My load is 69.3 grains H1000, CCI 250 primer and Nosler brass, sends the 180 Hybrids at 2950 in my 24" barrel. It'll go over 3000 but accuracy at 2950 was awesome.

I've been running the 195's in a 28 nosler using 81.5 gr. of N570. Muzzle velocity is 3010FPS. They've performed great on game and shoot 1/2 MOA. Killed two bucks at 540 yards, a buck at 30 yards and an elk at 330 yards. No exits on any animal, but always shrapnel in the offside hide. They've been great. No pinhole characteristics that I've seen. Just devastation. Not sure the impact velocity on the 540 yard impacts, but you can do the calculations and relate that to the MV you'll be getting and correlate that out, and you know they work at that distance.

Here's one buck at 540. Quartering away shot. This is the "exit side" even though the bullet didn't actually exit. Dropped on impact. About 18" of trauma.

This buck was 30 yards, perfect broadside. The remainder of the shank was bedded in the offside hide. Buck hunched up, turned, and took about 10 steps before piling up. Also killed some animals with the 180 VLD's. They performed great as well

H1000 and RL26. CCI 250 and 180 Bergers have worked well in 7 mags never could get the accuracy with Retumbo like I did with H1000 and RL26

The 195's in a 7mm Rem Mag are going to be tough to get the velocity North of 2900, but if you are going to try, use either N570 or RL33, both of those powders will aid in the velocity. I have a 28 Nosler and to achieve 3040FPS in mine, I am using 84.5 grains of RL33. In the 7mag, I am not sure how much you could load in the case, but it will not be anywhere near the 28N volume. In my 7mm Rem mag, I mainly use 168 Berger, have not tried the 180, but the 168 seem to work for me with H1000, very good accuracy. Good luck and keep us updated on the progress you make.

So I am having made a 28 Nosler that I will use the 195's on when it's finished. Huntnful's rifle looks darn near Identical to the one APR is making for me.

So I was thinking on the same page then when I started this post that I would probably have to slide down to 180's for the 7mag. So here's the kicker with this post. Since you guys took the time to help me ease my mind I have 3 boxes of 195's that I'm going to sell or trade for 180's . Y'all get first dibs.

Appreciate the offer dude! But I just snagged a box of 500 when I saw them come available on a website! If I had some 180's I'd gladly help your cause with a trade, but I only have 195's in the safe.
