I did a search on wby triggers and found on their (Weatherby's) site a thread on changing the spring and polishing a couple points. Erniethegunsmith.com carries the spring for like $7. The pictures looked like it was just one less coil so I filed off one coil (don't do it insert all legal disclaimers here.) and polished the couple points they highlighted with some 800 grit sand paper and put it together again. It's now adjustable from 1-3# and very crispy. It has passed all drop tests, slamming the bolt forward aggressively etc and not lost engagement one time. If this hadn't worked I would have just bought the spring but it's a very nice 2# every time now.
