Which scope for night hunting

I may have the opportunity to hunt coyotes at night, over bait, with the use of a green or red light at a distance of no more than 100 yards. I have an AR in 204 Ruger topped with a Zeiss 4.5-16x50 that is used for varmint hunting. Would this scope be ok for night hunting or should I consider changing the scope to a Vortex Viper with a red illuminated reticle or Trijicon with a green dot reticle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will be good to go with a light mounted atop your scope. You might not even need a light on a full moon and clear night at short range . Also get a good LED spot light so you don't have to be looking through your scope all the time.

The Zeiss will work well. I prefer a regular reticle over an illuminated reticle at night. With a good led you will see the crosshairs just fine.
