It depends.

I have USGI jump cases, SERT soft cases, Eagle soft cases, Allen soft cases, UTG cases, Grey Ghost discrete cases, VertX discrete cases, 3V gear discrete cases, Hazard 4 discreet cases and some no-names.

They all serve different purposes and are good and bad in different ways.

The Cabela's Xtreme cases are pretty decent. I have a couple of them. Only down side in my opinion is the material used on the inside of the case. It seems to attract and hold grass, dirt and debris almost like suede. Other than that they are functional cases for the money. Now that Cabela's has been bought by Bass Pro, many of the old house brand items are going away. The quality of the BP house brands isn't nearly as good as the Cabela's brands were. That being said, the new RangeMaxx BP house brand of cases are pretty legit. I have one of the Long Range cases https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/pro....z_btnclk=YMAL-2852442&WT.z_pg_ref=prd2871912 as well as one of the Tactical 3-Gun cases https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/pro....z_btnclk=YMAL-2843413&WT.z_pg_ref=prd2852442 . I am very satisfied with both of them considering the features and price point of each. I like that they are made from heavy duty nylon inside and out. This keeps range debris from clinging to the inside like the Cabela's case. They can also double as makeshift shooting mats when folded out flat. One thing I like to do with all my soft cases is to treat them with a waterproofing spray on the outside surfaces. Cabela's used to have a great aerosol can of it for a few bucks. I see that has gone away now but any of these types should work the same. https://www.cabelas.com/product/KIWI-CAMP-DRY-HEAVY-DUTY-WATER-REPELLENT/3129013.uts?slotId=2 Hope that helps your decision making process.
