[QUOTE="IdahoRedneck, post: 999498, member: 24273"] Okay folks, have been meaning to get this done for a few months but life keeps happening, haha. Anyway heres the plan, keep in mind, im just a bodyman who beats on fenders for a living with a passion for Long Range Hunting and shooting, ill do my best to conduct this review but if you have any questions or want another set of measurements that may help us learn more about the potential of this W3P bullet as a LR hunting bullet let me know. First off, there was some initial questions regaurding the jacket thickness on this bullet when they first come out. So after I recieved mine I cut one open to see what was going on. The steel tip weighed 14.1 grains, the jacket measured .021 at the tip, and .025 at the base so it would appear this may be a straight walled jacket or .004 thou taper maybe.........i dont know perhaps some of you bullet makers could offer your thoughts here. Next I grabbed a handful and weighed them on my Lyman 1000 digital scale, which I calibrated with a 20g check weight 3 or 4 times throughout the process. They were actually very consistant I thought.230.5, 230.6, 230.5, 230.6, 230.4, 230.6, 230.7, 230.6, 230.5, 230.6 The bearing surface near as I can eyeball it with my calipers is around .722 or so..... Im shooting a Rem 700 Sendero I put together that shoots My 210 berger load a very solid half MOA at 1175 yards. Rem brass, match prepped, fed 215m primers and Re 33. The OAL To Ogive is 3.177 which is .004 thou off lands. Al has told me these like being close to the lands, so thats where ill start. Also that Re 33 seems to yeild the lower ES numbers when seated closer to or on the lands......... I have a ladder loaded up from 92-100 grains and will go shoot it in the morning. Im curious as to when this bullet will pressure out compared to the Berger, I know sooner but it will be interesting to see what kind of velocity Ill be able to get. Then when I have an idea where the node is Ill load some 3 shot test groups and shoot them round robin style to hopefully find that half MOA or better group im after. Ill chrony the ladder and report back. Then its off to the spot, with Roy, and check drops, discern the BC out to around 1200 and possibly see what they can do at a mile:Dgun) Pics to Follow.
