Vortex Razor HD 16-48x65 Staight Spotting scope

For sale is my Razor HD spotting scope. I only used the spotting scope a handful of times at the shooting range and it has never been out in the field or packed on hunting trips. The glass is great and clear. The only reason I'm selling this is that I have purchased a smaller razor HD 11 x 33 spotting scope to use on backpack hunting trips.Please feel free to contact me with any questions. $700 shipped CONUS.

FWIW I have an angled 16-48 mint condition never left the house that I would trade for this straight if someone prefers angled. Would come with neoprene cover included. Just an option to maybe help the sale if someone prefers angled.

There are 2 straight versions of the vortex razor hd. The focus is different. Can anyone tell me any other differences or why there are 2 versions? The other style seemd to be more expensive.

The one in this post is the gen 1 model. The other one is a gen 2. Gen 1 models for the most part are discontinued (some are still in a few spots sold as new though, but no longer manufactured).

The biggest difference between the gen1 vs gen2 is the focus mechanism. Dual focus for gen 1and barrel type focus for gen 2.

the zoom range is a bit greater in the gen 1 model and it is also a bit lighter.

depending where you read, some say it's the same glass and some say the gen2 is improved but it's not clear really how.

I personally (and I think a good amount of others) prefer the dual focus setup and therefore the gen 1 model. I think the glass on the one I have is very impressive. I don't plan on buying anything else for quite a while. Especially at this price point/value level.
