300 WM in a tikka is totally doable if you plan to run factory ammunition, or you don't mind seating deeper to accept mag length. We have built a lot of these, and I mean ALOT! They shoot great even at mag length with 200 gr < bullets - however, like @Taylorbok mentioned your limited to around 3.400 overall length.
You could step up to a defiance Tenacity, however - you still need to purchase a trigger, bottom metal and magazine assembly. For most run of the mill parts list (Triggertech & hawkins) you're still looking knocking on the door of that $1200 neighborhood, that's what makes the tikka shine (Nearly half the price !) They're such a great donor for budget friendly builds.
