Tikka T3 with Leupold 4.5-14x50

Son just bought rifle, wants to put this scope on it.
What mounts/rings will work and clear the barrel?

Was looking at the Warne that mount direct to rifle grooves, but what height?

Scope is 1" tube

I have this setup but the 30mm tube. I tried the warne medium height and it fit but the scope was super close to the barrel, like I could maybe slip a piece of paper under it. I went to the talley ultralight rings in medium and I like the height perfect. This is the set I got but I guess you would need the 1" version.

Looks like the Talley # for the 1" tube, med hight, is 940714

I had the warnes when I used a 1" tube but the objective was always 44 or smaller they were rock solid which is why I tried them before the talley. The talley a mount up nice though. If he is going to use a 50 objective you will need to up his cheek weld. I use the triad tactical stock pack with internal loops and the addition height kit. It's in the pic on the rifle.

I used DNZ medium mounts on both my Tikkas, one with a 50mm Nikon and the other with a 42mm Zeiss HD5.

I used DNZ medium mounts on both my Tikkas, one with a 50mm Nikon and the other with a 42mm Zeiss HD5.

I had the DNZ on mine, but could not move my scope far enough forward to shoot prone. Changed to a picatinney rail and rings....good to go. I also suggested that to him.

Well, he bought the Leupold bases (front twist in) and medium rings.

The rear part of the front bell is about 1/8" off the barrel
