My firing range opened today so I can finally provide some range results. I loaded some 300WM and compared the Hornady 190gr CX with the Barnes 190 LRX . The loads were 79 gr of RL 26, Fed 215 primer, col of each was 100 of the lands and 24 barrel. 190 CX@3118, 3885 FT/LBS 190 CX@3134, 3925 FT/LBS 190 CX@3114, 3875 FT/LBS 190LRX@3173, 4023 FT/LBS 190LRX@3138, 3935 FT/LBS 190LRX@3190, 4066 FT/LBS This was a test to basically test the powder for velocity and pressure which were all good. As you can see RL 26 is producing some significant velocities with no sign of pressure issues. My next test will be playing with the COL vs Lands to look for the best accuracy. Overall I would say either bullet/ load would be a great big game hunting choice. More to come. Please be aware these are max loads . Sorry guys this is from a 300 Win Mag.
