I bought my 4 digit serial Encore the first year they were released. It came as a 15" 308 Winchester from the factory. I have used it on everything from Prairie Dogs to big northern Minnesota Whitetail Deer. It's topped with the Simmons Gold Medal 2-7×28 handgun scope. Back in the day, it was the only scope recommended by the godfather of hand cannons, J.D. Jones for hard recoiling handguns. It's a fantastic shooting rig when the barrel is clean, but accuracy falls off as it picks up copper. I wish you luck finding a good 308 barrel for your rig!
