Talley ring height

im looking at the 4-16x42 huskemaw and running a senders contour barrel, can I get away with low Talley mounts?

With a 42mm I run low Talley lightweights on everything except the Tikka where I first ran extra low. Keep in mind your rifle's ejection path; those extra low rings fit the scope on the Tikka beautifully but the upward ejection path sent brass right into the windage knob on my scope. I had to swap out to medium rings and a scope with smaller turrets to make that rifle work.

I have a Leica ERi 2.5-10x42 and I have low Talley Lightweights on my LAW rifle.

Is that a heavier profile barrel?

That was from a #3 Brux to a Christensen arms carbon barrel. Never a problem

morning, I installed talley high 1" rings and bases on my
257wbee rem. action, hart barrel #7 contour and timmey trigger.
H&S tactical stock.using a Nikon 8x30x44 monarch scope.
I had previously installed a set of medium
height talley rings. the adjustment for the height topped out.
was 4"'s low. with the added high rings the situation was
corrected. I said NO because of my experience. I stand corrected.
I due like warne and talley steel rings and mounts.
when the subject is yotes wolves and hogs let the blood fly.

Low will be more than fine with that scope

You might want to look at the Hawkins Rings from Redhawk rifles , their rear ring has the anticant level built in and you can get the 20moa

For anyone looking for a similar setup. I went with the Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44, Talley low rings. This is with a carbon six proof contour barrel. For is perfect!
