Date code is the stamp on the barrel on the left side just ahead of the serial number on reciever.

It's on the left side of the barrel, 2 small letters close to the recoil lug.

I can't make out what the characters are. PG or P6? The gun is 6-7 years old I think. Here's a pic.

With the RR serial prefix, you're correct. It's less than 7 years old.

It shoots well but I have so many 30s it's getting redundant. If it were a 25-06 or 270 I'd keep it.
