Something a little different

Wanted something different for my newest personal build so I ordered a laminate blank from boyds and carved out a stock using the gunwerks lr1000 stock as inspiration. Two critical things people overlook when choosing a stock is length of grip and length of pull. If you've ever had a stock custom made to your measurements you'll know the fit and feel is far superior. Trued up a remington 700 with a ptg bolt and fit a benchmark carbon barrel 1-8 twist chambered in 28 nosler. With the design of the stock recoil didn't need much taming but I added a Piercision rifles 5 port muscle brake to really flatten this bad boy out. Topped with a vortex strike eagle 5-25x56 bedded in some hawkins hybrid hunter rings. Not the highest end of scopes but I love the features and will continue to preach that it is an extremely undervalued scope. Throated for 195 bergers and so far it's launching then at 2950 with retumbo and no pressure signs. I love the way this build turned out. Looking forward to putting it to work on four legged critters.

Nice! Do PTG bolt handles need additional letting like the Surgeons do, or do they just fit in a regular R700 bolt handle inlet? Thanks!

Nope. They look kinda goofy in a standard rem 700 inlet but they fit just fine. I inletted this stock for the ptg bolt handle specifically so there wasn't the extra gap around it
