Yes sir. It's easy to do.
You only have to skive new unskived (stiff) hulls. It's to make crimping easier and more consistent on the first loading. I've done Many.

The other option is roll crimping. To me, roll crimping is a pain in the arse. I've done it. But not lately
If you/he has to skive his hulls, just remember - it's like chamfering the inside of cartridge necks. It doesn't take too much. You can use a drill motor and just touch the hull mouths with the skiving tool.

Thanks I gave him a shout! Hopefully they make 2 3/4", but he can cut those down I'm sure. I've never loaded shotshell so I'm in the dark there
They list 2 3/4 and 3" available.
