Not new to long range hunting or shooting so I decided to sell off a few "safe dust collectors" and treat myself and my wife to a brand new Seekins PH3. 1st Seekins I or we have ever owned. Did some serious research prior to consideration and very few and any issues. Hers is chamber in 6 creedmoor and mine is 300 win mag. Yesterday, drove 3 hours (one way) to a dealer that had them in stock. Actually placed an order with the retailer 2 weeks, gave down payment to hold until I could make it in yesterday to pay for and pick up. 2 beautiful rifles in tow and 3 hours back home arriving late in the evening. Wake up today and decided to give them the typical wipe down to get all the packing grease off, clean and inspect the bore for a future sight in, check action torque specs, etc. Break out the Borescope and *** to my surprise. Attached video of from my Borescope. The rifle with the green/tan/black stock is my brand new 300 win mag. with all the extreme heat cycle bluing. The grey and black stock is the wife's 6creedmoor. Rust, inside brand new rifle barrel? I call the retailer who advised "bring it in, along with your Borescope and we will exchange to something with your satisfaction". Again, it's 3 hour drive one way. Had $134 in diesel fuel costs just on the 1st round trip. Not complaining as I knew that ahead of time when I ordered them. Second part of this equation is, how brings their Borescope to any retailer IF the firearm is brand new? Is it something that I should now consider doing? Email was sent to Seekins and was told by the retailer he reached out to Seekins also.....sooooo wish me luck. Heck, I could have bought (7-7 1/2) ruger Americans for the price I bought these 2 Seekins and know 1st hand of the "crater moon surface" that the Ruger American barrels have even new.
