Hello everyone my grandfather recently passed amd I was willed this gun. What should I do? The ammo is pretty rare amd the brass are as well. Should I trade,sell, or just store the gun. I have not gone to pick it up

Is it chambered for 300Savage? And if so, can you reload?

no sadly it's still chambered in 375. Is there any cases that can be formed for this. I read about nicking out 30-30 shells and light loads but sounds kind of sketch

I wouldn't mind if the rounds were afford able or easy to come by

wow... what a beast! I know that Starline made 375 brass at one point. You might reach out to them and see if they have any stowed away somewhere. They have always been good to help me find brass.

Sweet thank you hopefully there is some hope. I have not picked the rifle up yet but I have heard it is a massive round
True, I get that. they aren't making 99s anymore for sure though. Do you reload? That would definitely make a difference

Not yet but it seems if I keep this rifle I will have to. I have only found rounds on one web site and there around 5 a round so not gonna be a solid hunting rifle. But I do own a model 94 winchester in 3030 it's the shorty model.
Forgive the ignorance, but .375 what! H&H or something else?
Also, all large caliber loaded ammo is around $5-$6/round these days. I would reload.

375 win isn't common. I have a buddy that found one of these a while back and I've been jealous ever since.
Savage 99a in 375 Winchester is very rare. Need to research that one. FB has a very good site. Savage 99. Check it out and ask questions. They will help. Very active site. Only 1,500 made in 1981.

OK I tried to join it. I am not a very avid collector. In all honesty I have the rifle I love but I would like a rifle with a little more range and I don't want a rifle to sit and collect dust and not be enjoyed.
