It was built for my dad, but he fell ill.
i shoot his LH savage.243 all the time.
I don't see the big deal. It actually helps me keep the gun and cheek weld in place better and when I operate the bolt I don't have to loosen my grip. never has affected me and my shooting but you will have to build some muscle memory.
