I'm looking for either a bare action or donor rifle along the lines of a L579 Sako or Kimber.

Want to build a light weight rifle chambered in 338 Federal.

Like a fool I sold my last medium Sako, someday I will learn not to sell stuff, always end up regretting it, lol.

I'm all ears for any suggestions on actions.

Merry Christmas All,

Randy

Unless you can find a beater.... L579s are expensive! I just finished some work on a heavy barreled .243... my jaw hit the floor when I saw what a rifle discontinued in the 1980s is worth right now. And boy, parts are hard to find; at least, they were for me.

I believe you'd be money ahead if you started with an aftermarket action; considering you intend to strip it anyway. But, I completely understand the nostalgia factor too.
