Good luck on the coyotes, they are tons of fun. I have been hunting them for years and tried everything from a 17hmr to a 300 weatherby. The conclusion I have come to is this. If I miss it really didnt matter what caliber or velocity I was using. Calm nerves, an accurate rifle, and a good zero is the secret. However my favorite will always be a 243 win. If you have any intentions of shooting long range a 243 or something in a 6.5 mm would be worth a try. But like I said, hitting them is the most important factor.
