Hello-
I bought this gun to make a 338(?) project out of it. I used it this last fall to hunt bears and discovered that it shoots very well. It is the new long range model with the Bell and Carlson M40 Stock and a varmint countour barrel (26") Chambered in 300 Remington Ultra Mag. Only 26 rounds down the tube. All but one (shot a nice bear) have been at paper. I have shot it out to 450 years yielding roughly 1/2 MOA 3 shot group. 100 and 300 yard targets have been consistently sub 3/4 MOA. All shots have been with Nosler LRAB 210 factory loads. I bedded the action to the stock with Devcon Steel Bed and It has a Timney trigger. I will include the original trigger and a Wyatts extended box mag not installed (3.825" max COAL). There are a few rub marks on the parkerized finish and wear on the finish of the stock(near the fore-end) from a backpack. The rifle has been cleaned with a coated rod and bore guide. For those who reload, The COAL to the lands with the 210 LRAB is ~3.84", COAL to lands with Berger 230 Hybrid OTM is ~3.820". Bare rifle weight is ~9.6 lbs
I bought the gun for the action and the stock to make a large 338, but since it is proven to shoot so well even with factory ammunition I haven't been able to bring myself to change it. I am not in any hurry to sell it and the round count may go up if i can find some time to work up some loads. If a barrel gets here before it sells there may be a take off barrel and bolt for sale.
New rifle costs $700, Timney Trigger $130, Wyatts Box Mag $35
I am looking to get $800 shipped to your FFL. I am willing to change the price if you don't want the trigger or mag box. For $100 more I will include 200 ct Berger 230 Gr Hybrid OTM projectiles.
I am Open to trades in the 338 Caliber (338 Lapua or Edge). I am looking to build a 338 so I will trade plush cash for your rifle.
Thanks,
Dan
