I just have a some questions about what a short chamber is -approximately how much would it cost to finish the chamber so its functional ? and why would anyone screw a barrel onto a action that needs the chamber worked on ?

When remington filed bankruptcy they had a lot of barreled actions left at their custom shop, the custom shop built rifles had better quality barrels than the factory hammer forged barrels, the custom shop never got to finish these barreled actions into rifles that's why they are short chambered. It's a opportunity to buy a quality new barrel with 99.5% of the work completed at 1/3 or less of the cost

Would have to measure to make sure but should be around .610-.625
