how heavy is the gun? something I could pack around?

I pack them around I guess it would depend on what your comfortable with. I would guess around 8 pounds. They are varmint contour barrels and have a pretty solid stock but not to heavy.

If its the one with the HS precision stock, I think they run between 8-8.25lbs without a scope. Bump....

yes hs precision stock. the 24" one is 8.25, just guessing 4" of barrel maybe 1/4 of a pound.
