I just bought a old A prefix short action BDL complete rifle for $500 and before that I bought a 6 digit short action BDL (just the action) for $375..hope this helps...Merry Christmas

In MO and GA remington 700 SPS in long and short actions are going for 375 at wal mart. If I weren't such schmuck for 700s I would say they are all over priced. Well anyway, any rem 700 your getting for right around 500 is a good deal. Good luck with your search.
