It is good info and pretty consistent with what I have seen as well. I have always had good results with RL25, but quit using it because of temp instability. I agree that RL26 is faster too. My tests with H1000 vs 7977 show they are very close, although my particular lots of powder show 7977 is a touch faster. I recently ran some H1000 against RL26 in my 6.5 SS and found that 60 grs. RL26 gave me 3207 and 62.4 grs. H1000 gave identical velocity. A curious thing about RL26 is that I can load up a grain at a time and get almost exactly 50 fps increases until you have a very stiff bolt lift. With H1000, and most other powders, they tend to get more erratic near the top, and usually gain less. One new thing that I discovered last week was that the H1000 did not show more pressure than the RL26 at 3207', even though RL26 will continue to reach more velocity than H1000 as you move further up in charge (i.e. H1000 pressures out before reaching top end of 3300' with RL26)?
Hi Cliff. I just found out about this thread. Good info Cliff. Just for a teaser, I shot a .111" and then a .014" 3 shot group with H1000 at 3155' which was 61.5 grains!........Rich
