SOLD/EXPIRED Proof CF 25sst, Tikka T3x, T3 Barrel

25 cal Proof CF, sendero , 26", 1:7.5 twist, chambered in 25sst by Preece Precision on a trued Tikka T3, T3x action. 5/8x24 muzzle threads. 3lbs 1 oz. 350 rounds shot through it. Lots of life left and heck of a shooter!

I bought this from a great guy on accurateshooter.com. I never installed it because while i talked myself into a 26" barrel, I really wanted a shorter 20-22" barrel. So I've decided to try to go back to that.

Attached is his target pic with the following statement: "These were my seating depth test. 10,13,16,19 off the lands. 59gr of H1000. The far right bulls was .019 off lands. 3 shot groups."

25SST in a 26" is fully capable of 3300+ with a 131, 133, or 135 and H1000. RL23 and RL26 will surpass those numbers.

I run mine at a leisurely 3199 with the 133s. I had 3345 with the 131 BJ and 59.0gr H1000. My fun load was at a very light 3126fps with the 135, and shot my pronghorn at 875 last year with that load.

22" should easily be in the 3050-3150 range.

If I had a Tikka action, I would be all over this.

A gunsmith would probably need to headspace the barrel correctly. But it would be an easy job for any competent gunsmith.

I have a Tikka with a 25SST barrel currently, I'd like this one though. Have to check to see what it would be to get it installed and headspaced on my action.


does it have a muzzle thread protector?

Do it! No it does not. Having said that, I've personally stopped buying muzzle thread protectors because I always have a supressor or a brake on my barrels. I end up not ever using them.
