If stored in a dry temperature controlled area, it should last for many many years. A tell tale sign powder is going bad is a rust colored residue on the powder and it has a smell that will burn your nose a bit. I've got powder that is approximately 6 years old and it is still good to go. Usually, damp conditions and high heat will ruin powder.
