I have a wildcat almost exactly the size of a .264 Win Mag. Here are some tests.
7/12/15 Today I fired nine shots of RL25 with Nosler ABLR 129 @ 3.403". The ogive measures 2.787". The primers were CCI250 Magnum. I started with 67.7 grains and went to 72.0. Shots number 4,5,6,7, &8 made a group of 11/16". The velocities were most irregular:
67.7 – 3,174
68.5 – 3,225
69.0 – 3,248
69.5 – 3,243
70.0 – 3,293
70.5 – 3,331
71.0 – 3,311
71.5 – 3,376
72.0 – 3,333
All nine made a group of 2".
8/17/15 66* - 73* Tried some Barnes 127 LRX @ 2.771" at 300 yards. The primer was CCI 250 Magnum. The powder was RL25. The velocities follow:
68.5 – 3,289
69.0 – 3,331
69.5 – 3,357
70.0 – 3,372
70.5 – 3,386
71.0 – 3,416
71.5 – 3,442
72.0 – 3,482
Shots numbers 1,2,3 made a group of 5 ½". Near the center of this group shots numbers 4,5,6 made a group of ¾".
