[QUOTE="Greyfox, post: 1256785, member: 10291"] Took this tall, atypical whitetail in Wyoming this October. Spotted him from a position on a high bluff at 700 yards. Winds were gusting at over 30mph which would have made for an iffy shot, or a good stalk, given my location. I gambled that he would likely hang around and try for him in better conditions. I did manage to get some pictures through the spotting scope. Came back a couple of days later and he gave me a shot a just over 650 yards in a 5-10mph wind. Made a high heart shot with my 6.5x284 Cooper loaded with a 140 VLD. Full penetration(exit seen in photo), everything in between was mush. Dead after a 50 yard sprint. Bottom WT and Mulie were taken in Alberta in November. The very old and heavy WT was jumped at mid day in a creek bottom. Decided to try and stalk him and managed to make a chest shot as he crossed an opening at 200 yards. Same week this mulie was spotted early AM well over 1000 yards. After a couple of hours of repositioning, managed a good chest shot, also, a little over 650 yards. Both these deer were DRT, and shot with the same rifle. I was pretty lucky this season!
