What is that area on the right side of the stock that looks like a 'crater'? Is there an actual 'dip' or just the way the grain of the wood lays? Interesting look. I have a ..223 Montana, but not sure I want to let it go.

Just wrap that rifle up in Gorilla Duct tape and go shoot.....if you're still worried wrap it twice in the duct tape.....if it gets marred..I know a place that can paint it for ya.......lol....
