I posted this rlsewhere but thought LRH would enjoy. So I got down real close to this guy and then he turned his head toward me! Holy crap! Thank god he is not bigger! I bet he was thinking if I was edible!

I raise hundreds of them in my organic garden every year. They are voracious eaters and start consuming little bugs as soon as they hatch out. I'm not sure they survive the winter around here, so I have to go through the cycle every spring.

Hey, loved catching them as a little kid. They were a bit of a challenge, they can fly and they weren't afraid to attack.

They are surprisingly intimidating when they rear up and spread their wings. I still catch them like a little kid and let them crawl on my hands, drives the wife nuts.
