Not to turn this into a NF bashing thread, but I think because of the name people tend to overlook their flaws. This is especially true when someone has just spent a good chunk of their own change or has not been able to handle other competitive options on the market. Not trying to fault anyone here, and I think most people try to justify what they have spent the time and money on, and quite often the reality is that you don't get to see if you like something until it shows up in the mail. I credit NF for pushing the envelope with the 8x magnifier before most other brands, but perhaps the technology wasn't quite there yet because we are still talking about it some four years later. To my knowledge there has never been an update other than introducing the 4-32 which everyone says fixed at least some of the eye relief problems. The NX8 also rode out on the coat tails of the ATACR's success, while being more affordable to the masses. As far as competitive options at this price point, the Vortex Razor HD II was about $1800 when the NX8 came out, before Vortex raised its prices. Other than the weight (which now every PRS gamer junkie wants anyways), I think this was always a better option. Element Optics Nexus comes out of the same factory. Great company and great products but you will never see anyone but me on here promoting them because they are not one of the accepted big names.
