This is the NightForce 5.5-22x56 Varmiter model that preceeded the NXS.
It's just as rugged as the NXS and has features that work for hunting and target. This is the model that Dan Lilja recommended to me for long range 50bmg hunting and 1000yd benchrest at FCSA competitions. It's the one he used. You can see 50 caliber holes in the target at 1000yds.
It has the illuminated NP-R2 reticle. I feel this reticle is superior for hunting, where you can estimate range and hold-over without having to adjust the scope.
This scope has 1/8" click adjustments with zero stop. The NXS has 1/4" adjustments. This is great for long range work where the finer adjustment really helps you out. Dan used this scope to shoot a chuck at 1500 yards.
The scope is in NEW Condition. I have not been able to do any long range hunting because I am always working out of town and it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.
