Just curious, do you like the Swarovski better than the night force? Do you think it's better glass or what features do you like better than the night force. The reason I'm asking is because I will be in the market for a higher end scope pretty soon and was looking at both.

I am no expert but I think both are very good, just depends on the option a person is looking for. For a first focal plane in moa I sure think this Night Force ATACR is at the top of the list. Here would be a great opportunity for u to try one.

Thanks fellows! I'm not wanting to buy one to resale, just want to buy a really good scope. I have looked through the X51 5 X 25 X 56 Swarovski and was really impressed. Nearly everything I see on LRH is Night Force and was just wondering why Heimdd was switching over. I haven't had an opportunity to look through a Night Force but will find one somewhere that I can take outside, I can't tell when looking through a scope inside a store. I currently have two Burris XTR II 5-25-50's that are lower end but are descent to me. I bought a custom 6 BR and had to rob one of the Burris's from my 308 and am now trying to build my funds up to get a better piece of glass for the 6 BR and put the Burris back on 308. Sorry to get long winded! Just trying to figure out why Heimdd is getting rid of his Night Force to get the Swarovski, there has to be a reason and it may help me decide which way to go when I'm ready to buy.

The Swarovski is 2nd Focal Plane so that may be the difference. Swarovski has been doing glass for decades so glass may well be superior as well.

Gotcha! That's what I was thinking but wanted confirmation.
I have both, an ATACR 5-25x56 2nd focal and a X5i 5-25x56. When I first got them, I took them in my back yard one evening and looked through both until it got dark. I really couldn't tell a difference with my eyes, I could only see about 50 yards in my back yard. I would think one looked better than the other, then look through the other one and think that it was better. Both have incredible glass. The NF is heavier, but I really like that it has the capped windage turret. My only complaint about NF is the illumination doesn't go low enough for me. I don't like the huge turrets on the Swaro, and the windage turret does not have a cover or a lock. But they're 2 of my favorite scopes

well said SammySTW One thing I don't like about the x5 Swarovski is u need there special little tool to zero the elevation turret. The night force u only need a little allen wrench.

Yes, the X5i turret is overly complicated, I still have to open the owners manual if I'm going to adjust it
