Hi,

Has anyone had any experience shooting the Styer SSG 08 rifle in .243 win?

I have a Styer Scout .223 used for varmiting up to 650yrd (groups 3 inch at 600yrds) in no wind conditions but i am looking for a wind bucking round for shooting in 10-20knots at these ranges. The SSG 08 has 4 groove one in 10 twist and I am not sure that this is fast enough for VLD bullets. I am also keen to hear what the triggers are like on the SSG 08. I like the set trigger on the scout but gather that there is only a single stage trigger on the SSG 08.

I am keen on this rifle because the Scout has proved so accurate. The best group from this rifle so far measured 0.12 inch at 100 yrsd with home loads. The SBS system is a joy to use.

Has anyone tried long range varmiting with the Scout in .243?
