Myself and 3 old college buddies drew Unit 32 back in 2018. We had intel on the area west of Artesia and north of Hope. As Plinker147 has said, its hard, dry country and not many animals. We did the DIY thing too and we had a good time, but only trigger pulled on the entire trip was by me shooting a coyote. We could have shot a truck load of Doe Mulies, but never saw a forked horn buck, and only saw 2 spike bucks. We had planned on getting as far back in the area as possible to set up camp so we would have the area to ourselves. Even went out a day and half early to get camp set up and do a full day of scouting. Opening morning I was sitting in mesquite bush on side of a hill that had a a game trial with signs of heavy use about 300 yards below me. I got there about an hour before sunrise. Sun comes up and there are 4 people about 100 yards above me on the hill. They came in after I got settled. Midday we head back to camp for lunch and pass 3 new camps within a half mile of our camp. So much for be back away from everybody!!!! LOL
