Live in Los Alamos. Enjoy hunting with my 25 yr. old son who has hunted in NM for last several years. He has not scored a kill on any large game. Has only had a shot at. A cow elk but missed. Was A very long shot (over 400 yrds) probably first kill fever
He shoots my 300 win mag hand loaded w/ Barnes 150gr TTSX , 74gr RL22. MV3079.
I shoot a win pre64 model 70 custom stock glass bedded 30-06. Hand loaded with Barnes 150gr tsc 50gr 4895 IMR MV 2850.
I am looking for a long range scope for the 06. I like the Vortex Viper pst 4-16x50 EBR-1 Mrad. Cabellas has a good price on this scope

Welcome to the forum. Can't help you on the scope however. What do you normally hunt here in NM? I am now bow hunting after 20+ years with the smoke pole.
