Hello everyone. I have followed this website for sometime, but desided to sign up. I am not new to shooting, long range or otherwise, and thought to add my voice to the group.
For long ranges 1000 - 1700 yards, I typically use a 338 Lapua Megnum, for 800 - 1200 yards, my 300 Win Mag, and my 338 Win Mag out to 800 yards. I'd love to shoot the 338 Win Mag more, but it doesn't have a brake on it, and is too punishing on me to work up a good load to stretch it further than 800 yards.
Like many, if not all of you, I handload everything... you have too if you are shooting 338 Lapua.
I am ex military (USAF) and have a PHD in Aerospace Engineering... not that that means anything. I just enjoy shooting.
Savage 111 LRH 338 Lapua, Winchester Model 70 338 Win Mag, Ruger M77 300 Win Mag, Ruger M77 30-06, 308 (3 AR308s 16", 18",& 20", Ruger Gunsite Scout), 3 Winchester 94s 30-30, 32 Win Special, & 45 Colt, Marlin 94 in 44 Mag, Henery 22LR.
In any case, I'm pleased to join your ranks.
Thanks
