New guy from Florida

So what are you looking for out west here? Mulies, pronghorns or elk. And your term long range what is it? I was raised in southeastern Arizona and lived in northwest Colorado and to date most shots on those critters is out to 400 yds

Ha! It's 54 here now but supposed to be 82 tomorrow.
Where I usually hunt it's 100 yards or so in timber, 250ish on cut lanes and 350ish in fields. My longest shots on game were 300. I think 400 is a reasonable range.

I not saying you can't shoot farther but in field conditions things need to be perfect or desperate. We have taken elk at 500 yds and my grandson shot a cow elk at 610yds but he had a Dodge Ram 2500 hood rest
