Just found this forum today, and I have been intrigued with long range hunting for quite some time. Walking in blind, I will be starting from scratch, calibers, rifle's, optics and reloading are what I have questions about right now. My primary target will be yotes on a windy plain, so I will be trying to nail down something that will work. Please excuse the dumb questions, especially about reloading, it is something I want to get into, just looking for some start up information.

Welcome aboard and good luck with the coyotes. 6.5X284 would be my choice if you don't care about the hides. Flat shooting and better against the wind than 22*250 or similar cartridge. gun)
