It is getting very popular in PRS - more powder capacity than BR family and less powder capacity than 6CM, fits in regular 308 mag, factory ammo available. 6ARC becoming more popular as bolt target cartridge too - poor man's BR with factory ammo available.Seems like the new "kid on the block" and gaining popularity is the 6GT.
Not new to me, been shooting it for 6 yrs now. Folks laughed at it when George and Tom developed it.Seems like the new "kid on the block" and gaining popularity is the 6GT.
I built a 6 arc proof steel 26" comp, Impact 737 action and foundation stock. It does very well with factory 108's. I will be loading for it for next year. Shot a B&G Type A 18" gas gun with 108's today at a 10x12" pig at 1k today. 3 hits out of 5. Took a nice buck last year with the 108. It's a versatile cartridge that, like you mentioned is gaining steam. I think the availability is key.It is getting very popular in PRS - more powder capacity than BR family and less powder capacity than 6CM, fits in regular 308 mag, factory ammo available. 6ARC becoming more popular as bolt target cartridge too - poor man's BR with factory ammo available.
This is another great choice! The 6x47 Lapua is in between and might also be a consideration.
