I'm helping out a buddy mount a scope to his grandfather's rifle. Once I installed it and tried to bore sight it, I noticed the back scope base holes are slightly offset and not able to bore sight due to running out of windage adjustment. My question is this, is there a set of rings or any type of mounting that has windage adjustments AND rings for a 34 mm scope? Leupold has the STD ones for 1", but I can't seem to find a solution for something with 34 mm scope.

Just curious -- what kind if action is on the rifle?

Are you using two piece rings or a rail plus rings?

It's a very old rem 700. In fact, it has the section on top cut out for stripper clips?
Did you place a straight edge along the mounting holes to verify they are not lined up?

Are you using two piece rings or a rail and rings?

Leupold has the dovetail rings with the two screws in the back that let's you slightly move it side to side.

I agree with Darryl. But before you do that try the straightedge along the screw holes. Just want to make sure something isn't goofy with the base or rings.

This is my thought process, if the base was purchased after the action was drilled, what did they use as a guide?

If it was available at the time it was drilled, did the use the rail as the guide? If so, how did they accomplish it without the rail being seated properly on the action?

Questions, I am curious to see what you figure out?
