Mikecr, I like the images of your neck sizing set up. I see how you can control and test the length of neck sized with spacers in the Wilson arbor dies. I have been using the Wilson neck sizing dies with my 300 Win Mag for years with good results and very little run out. I believe that the Wilson neck dies size all of the neck except the last 1/16th inch or so. It does make sense to me that the case will align well with the chamber with neck sizing, and that the unsized portion of the neck will further align the case neck with the chamber neck for concentricity. So far I have not needed to bump my shoulders back since I have a low firing count on each case. Two questions for you. 1) Is the primary reason you are only sizing part of the neck to control neck tension, to maintain concentricity with the bore, both, or for other reasons? 2) Have you noticed any problems with run out or sensitivity to seating depth with rounds in the magazine with short neck reduction? Thanks.
